Noelle McAfee, PhD – Politics and the Fear of Breakdown

Noelle McAfee, PhD is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Psychoanalytic Studies Program at Emory University. Her areas of research include Social and Political Theory, Psychoanalytic Theory, Feminist Theory, and Ethics. She is the author of Democracy and the Political Unconscious (Columbia University Press, 2008), Julia Kristeva (Routledge, 2003), and Habermas, Kristeva and Citizenship (Cornell University Press, 2000). Her current book, Fear of Breakdown: Politics and the Work of Mourning (Columbia University Press) is forthcoming.
